All prices published on ScrapMetalIndex represent aggregated, estimated national and regional averages compiled from surveys of licensed recycling yards, commercial brokers, and public price sheets. ScrapMetalIndex is not a commercial scrap yard, broker, or purchasing facility.
Posted rates serve exclusively as informational market benchmarks. We do not guarantee that any individual scrap yard will pay the exact price listed on this website. Payouts at local scales depend on yard inventory, local freight, scale calibration, metal cleanliness, and volume tiering.
3. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall ScrapMetalIndex or its operators be held liable for any commercial losses, transportation costs, grading disputes, or missed opportunities resulting from reliance on the data, calculator estimates, or market forecasts presented on this site. Users are strongly advised to confirm live scale rates by calling their destination yard prior to transporting material.
